Cougar Tip off

Go Cougs! We are so looking forward to another great basketball season! We have our favorites from last year and have our eyes on a few returning players as well. The kids love going to the games and can't wait for cougar tails with Dad! Each year the kids pick a player to follow. They record their stats throughout the season. Emily and lucy were more interested in finding their dance teacher with the cougarettes :)
Emily showing off her new ball to get signed.
Tyler can always find a way to make it on the jumbo tron!
This kids got moves!
Josh with his player Josh Sharp.
Ryan and Brock have a little joke every year with the poster signing. I'm just glad Brock is easy going :)
Tyler with our local favorite Tyler Haws.
And since they are all so original in their picks, Nate chose (any guesses?) ...Nate Austin.
The creamery was packed and sold out of cougartails so we stopped by Krispie Kreme on the way out. Their Pumpkin Spice is delish, but really we will eat any of them!
I just loved his face when we opened the box.
We're with you josh, thumbs up on a super FUN night!

Apple Picking!

So many apples this year! I miss the days of making apple cider, but i'll tell you what fresh apples from the trees can not be beat. We have so much fun with our cousins and I love that they are all great workers. Sauced, crisped or carmeled- We love them apples!

ALOHA!

Every year Ryan and I say we'll make it to the Labor Day Luau at Thanksgiving Point..well this year we finally made it, and we had so much fun! What a great way to wrap up summer!
Another great "stranger taken" Family photo :) notice josh behind the white sleeves?
They impressed us with their coconut skills and taught the girls to hula
It is so pretty down here. Nate loved throwing rocks and watching the fish.
Such handsome boys!
What a fun night! Perhaps one of these years we will actually make it over to Hawaii. We had a great night. The weather was perfect, we ate delicious food, yummy desserts, and enjoyed a great show. Nate we loved your impromptu Haka dance, Josh you cracked us up watching the pretty girls doing the hula and Ty, if we catch you with the matches you're grounded!!

Our Hike to Stuart Falls

Saturday was the perfect day to spend with the family hiking to Stuart Falls. I haven't done this hike in a while so it was fun to do it again with the kids. They were awesome! We were so proud of Nate and Lucy! Lu did the whole thing on her own, and Nate made it the entire way in and most of the way out!
One of the kids was talking about how much they loved the trees and mountains on our hike. Nate said he did too and then proceeded to hug the next batch of trees. He also loved climbing up every rock and tree root and the jumping back to the trail. On one of his jumps he tumbled a little. Lucy was behind him and out of no where says, "That's like a tenth of a deduction Nate." Can you tell we've been watching the Olympics?
The water was seriously SO cold. It felt great to get wet after our hike. The kids had a blast playing in the water and cracking Kung fu Panda jokes. :)
Everyone on the trail kept telling Lucy she was doing so good and would point out that her shirt said Just do it. She would correct everyone and say, "it says Just Keep Going!" Lucy, You make us laugh. We did keep telling her to just keep going, and she did. Way to go girl!
Such a fun day! I am so glad we got to spend it together!
