We had so SO so much fun at the beach. The kids loved it.
And whats not to love...
We stayed on Mission Bay. The kids were a little confused at the lack of waves and kept questioning our trip to the "ocean". Except for the long drive, salty water and plenty of sand we could have just stayed in Utah! So we headed up to La Jolla Beach! Perfect for sand eating, wave jumping, and relaxing!
Nate was in Heaven! He loved everything about the sand. As soon as we put out the towel he would jump down on it and start playing. He could not get dirty enough!
Dad sharing his little cup of double chocolate fudge ice cream!
Emily could definitly live in the ocean! She was always the first one in and last one out.
Her and Tyler would laugh so hard in the water. Tyler is so protective of our family. He would make sure we were all aware of the Lifeguards warnings, which flags were out, and if Emily was getting out too deep!
Josh had fun wherever he was! His highlight was finding a little hermit crab on the beach and making it a deluxe sand "house"
Our Beautiful Mermaids!
If we weren't at the beach, we were probably at the pool. I think we may have turned into fish on this vacation! They loved the crafts, the security guard and his wristbands and especially the 10 ft deep end!
The kids LOVED Sea World.
Since Emily is the only daring ride seeker of the kids Sea World was perfect for us!
Nate's eyes were so big watching everything. He was so fun to watch.

The kids each fed the sea lions.
| Dad thought he needed a little snack! |
Lucy thought the starfish were awesome! She kept trying smuggle them out.
While Dad and Emily went on Journey to Atlantis we checked out the arctic. I was bummed we missed out watching them come down the steep hill, Dad said riding this with Emily was his favorite part of the day!
Sunday we were able to go to the Mormon Battalion visitors center. It was amazing. We loved our "journey" to San Diego as a member of the Mormon Battalion. Our kids loved dressing up as soldiers, panning for gold, washing laundry, making bricks and riding horses!
Guess you had to be there moments of our trip...
*Perfect weather the entire trip. 70 degrees when we went to bed, 70 when we woke up!
*The kids singing one republic's Good Life and Tonight Tonight in Death Valley.
*Numerous quotes from the movie Cars and Emily asking if we could go see Radiator Springs.
*Our non Spanish speaking GPS who could not pronounce half the roads in San Diego.
*Sun burned cheeks.
*Relaxing at the pool listening to the live music, the smell of the ocean and my cute kids happy as can be in the pool.
*Running to the back of Sea World so Josh could get a penguin from the gift shop just before it closed, only to find out that when we got to the front of the park, Tyler wanted the same thing. So we ran all the way back!
*Emily buying her cute necklace. She knew exactly what she wanted.
*Josh overly concerned about the starfish being out of the water for too long and his confused look at the girl (who spoke little english) and wouldn't listen to him and his frustrated look at the parents who weren't paying attention to him either!
*The Sky tower overlooking all of San Diego. Watching Dad and Josh with their "love" of heights.
*The announcement after the circ de la mer performance that we could meet the crew after and me asking if it was a hands on experience. (Ha ha!)
*In-n-out Burgers in California!
*Dads margarita at the Mexican restaurant in old town San Diego, the mariachi band at our table and the delicious chips and salsa!
*Our mini shower and sneaky change out of your swim suit and into real clothes at the car before our drive home.
*Leaving the beach three hours after we said we would and arriving in Primm at 1:30 a.m.
*Planning it again for spring break 2012!
